Daniel Muelrath started his irrigation design and water conservation career through earning a Water Science (Irrigation) degree at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo . He also has earned his MBA while attending Cal Poly and holds a certification as an irrigation auditor through the Irrigation Association. After college, he worked in the construction industry, followed by years of work at both water agencies and water retailers where he was in charge of implementing water conservation programs. Daniel also enjoys teaching at the local Junior College horticulture department, and has most recently taught irrigation design.
While working for water conservation programs, Daniel has: participated on two working groups for the California Assembly Bill 2717 (Landscape Model Ordinance), created a regional water management training program for landscapers that is recognized by the United States Environmental Protection Agency as a "WaterSense" training program (currently there are only two other programs that hold this title), lead a taskforce that developed City standards for landscape and irrigation design and installation for single family residential development projects, and reviewed hundreds of landscape and irrigation plans for compliance with water conservation standards.
